The Opportunity: RCI Theatricals, a Broadway general management firm with over 25 years of experience, will, on behalf of You’ll Be Swell Inc., the producers of the Broadway production of Gypsy, administer a self-directed fellowship in Company Management. The fellowship is designed to support the professional development of future Company Managers of theatrical projects on Broadway. We strive to increase the number of qualified and experienced future job candidates from underrepresented communities to ensure that the workforce of the Broadway theater industry reflects New York State’s diversity.
Length of fellowship: Commencing as soon as September 16, 2024, and continuing for at least 26 weeks with the possibility of future employment.
Position: Company Management
Company Management Fellow will be supervised by Company Managers and General Managers. Specific duties - all to be taught on-site- include, but are not limited to assisting the Company Managers and General Managers with the following:
Daily/weekly reporting of box office sales and other ticketing reports.
The processing and tracking of house seat orders and Tony voter seating.
Covering one show/week with the company management team.
Participating in sales, promotions, and press meetings.
Assist CMs with HR onboarding of new employees. Maintain, track, and file paperwork, receipts, storage, and supplies.
Assist CMs with weekly payroll, union reporting, and insurance requirements.
Assist with Opening Night events, theater seating, and after-party.
Logistical duties will include rehearsal and theatre visits (some nights and weekends) and coordinating/executing hospitality and transportation needs for the company and creative team.
Other duties as assigned.
Greater Fellowship Goals: By mentoring and teaching a Company Management Fellow these management tasks, which touch all elements of a Broadway production, the Fellowship will provide both a holistic overview of theatre management/administration as well as specific skills training for company managers plus provide full community integration into both a busy GM office and into both companies backstage. To achieve these goals, the Fellow will receive mentorship and training on both the macro and micro levels.
Start Date: TBD – as soon as September 16, 2024
Salary: Fulltime at $50,000/year annualized. The position will be expected to work up to six days a week, with some night and weekend work. One week of PTO will be provided during the term of employment. A schedule of paid holidays will also be provided.
Training:
Onboarding by Company Managers who will also serve as the primary mentors for the duration of the fellowship.
Participation in the ongoing activities as an active member of the Company and General Management departments on a running show.
Regular one-on-one meetings with mentor regarding current activities and larger industry questions.
This fellowship will include regular educational opportunities within the Broadway community.

Requirements:
Be a US citizen, US national, US permanent resident (holder of a Permanent Resident Card) or an individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA) at the time of application.
Be a member of an underrepresented community within the theater industry.
Reside in NY state during the duration of the fellowship.
Be able to work a flexible 40-hour per-week schedule, including nights and weekends.
